While attending Cleveland State University these two met in an accounting class and became friends on Facebook sending each other messages. Their first date was when Elaine asked Mike to help her study for an exam for a summer class she was taking. He was more than happy to help showing up with notes and a caramel macchiato coffee (which he made himself) and won her over. A little more than a year later Mike proposed at sunset on the shores of Lake Erie.
