Kevin and Jessica attended high school together although Jessica says he had no idea who she was - he was a senior and she a freshman. Jessica and the other freshman girls all had a crush on Kevin but it wasn't until later when they met through mutual friends that they began dating. Knowing the holidays to be Jessica's favorite time of year, Kevin proposed on Christmas Eve by hiding a ring box in the Christmas tree.
