LaMalfa
A Legacy for One-of-a-Kind Weddings
By Breanne George
Celebrating 54 years as a family-run business, LaMalfa has built a legacy in Northeast Ohio as a premier venue for one-of-a-kind weddings, from rehearsal din- ners to receptions and everything in between.
“We work directly with brides and their Pinterest boards to create a wedding theme based on their own unique style and per- sonality,” says Senior Vice President Martin LaMalfa. “Brides receive one-on-one con- sultations with our in-house event consultants who provide guidance and expert advice. This level of attention is what sets us apart from other venues in the region.”
A Success Story
LaMalfa began with humble beginnings and has transformed into a true success story. In 1963, LaMalfa’s mother and father opened a small store in Willowick called Vine Beverage. They would prepare party trays in the basement and sell them to local community centers and private homes. “My mother, the president of LaMalfa, was my father’s support arm during the entire building stages of the company,” LaMalfa says.
Demand grew for their products and services, and the LaMalfa family opened Vine Party Center in the 1970s. In 1986, they made the decision to open a new venue on Heisley Road, and LaMalfa Party

Center made its official debut in 1989. Fast-forward to today, and LaMalfa is a shining example of hard work, passion and dedication. The venue hosts more than 100 weddings each year.
“My father was a Korean War veteran and cook in the army, so many of the recipes to this day are inspired by his cooking and my family’s Sicilian heritage,” LaMalfa explains “It’s very important to me to carry on the family legacy.”
Beautiful Ballrooms
A truly glamorous setting for weddings, LaMalfa offers four breathtaking ballrooms that accommodate up to 1,500 guests for wedding receptions. Each ballroom features magnificent crystal chandeliers, neutral colors and elegant white satin ribbons sus- pended from the ceiling. With each ballroom combined, there is more than 120 feet of bar space, ensuring guests never have to wait in long lines for beverage service.
No matter a bride’s vision for her special day, LaMalfa’s flexible ballrooms provide a beautiful canvas to customize a wedding reception and cocktail hour in a variety of layouts. For example, many brides use two ballrooms, one to create a romantic space for the reception and another to create a trendy nightclub-inspired look for cocktail hour and late-night snacks.
‘Here Comes the Bride’
Conveniently located inside LaMalfa is a gorgeous, glass-enclosed chapel, which accommodates up to 400 guests for wed- ding ceremonies. Filled with natural light, this charming space features a wall of win- dows, skylight and dramatic grand staircase perfect for wedding photography.
“Our chapel is a great option for brides who want the feel of an outdoor wedding without having to worry about the unpredict- able Northeast Ohio weather,” LaMalfa says.
Wedding packages include large floral balls that suspend from the chapel’s cathedral ceiling and beautiful silk flower arrangements. For additional décor, brides have the flexibility to work with LaMalfa’s event planning consultants to transform the space to create their dream wedding. If
desired, a professional pianist will play during the ceremony on LaMalfa’s baby grand piano.
Creative Cuisine
LaMalfa’s in-house chefs work with the bride and groom to create an exceptional menu based on their personal preferences. Whether a sit-down dinner, buffet, food sta- tions or appetizers, options are endless to create an unforgettable dining experience.
While many of their dishes have Sicilian flair to reflect LaMalfa’s family heritage, chefs have flexibility to create any cuisine imaginable. LaMalfa caters to an array of ethnic groups, including Middle Eastern, Jewish, Greek, Russian Orthodox and Croatian cuisine. In addition, floor plans can be cus- tomized to allow for special traditions and requirements.
Wedding Enhancements
From ice sculptures to LED lighting, pro- jected images to iridescent crystal curtains, LaMalfa offers more than 150 enhancements for your wedding day through their network of preferred vendors.
To give brides the opportunity to meet with the venue’s preferred vendors, LaMalfa hosts the LaMalfa Bridal Experience each year in January. During the event, brides will enjoy two runway shows, including a New York-style trunk show, to see designer wedding gowns from local bridal shops.
“We handpick our vendors, from photog- raphers to disk jockeys,” LaMalfa says. “Brides have the opportunity to experience firsthand what each vendor does, from hearing from the DJs to getting their hair and nails done from local salons. It’s a very interactive experience.”
With a long history of first-class service, spectacular spaces and creative catering, LaMalfa is truly a one-stop shop for wed- dings. “We at LaMalfa have a great team from the community to make your event a success,” LaMalfa says. “Our highly qualified sales consultant, Matt, will kindly walk you through every step of the planning process to help you build a wedding ceremony and reception that you will cherish for the rest of your life.” §
