78th Street Studios hosts four of the most creative and industrial chic venues for weddings and special events in greater Cleveland, all within Northeast Ohio’s largest cultural arts complex. Our venues have a variety of distinctive aesthetic options:  exposed brickwork, wood floors, natural lighting, industrial windows, and steel doors providing a unique and dramatic atmosphere for your event.

At 78th Street Studios we allow you to bring in any caterer and bartender of your choice as long as they are licensed and full service. The Studios offer free parking, wi-fi and ADA access, as well as a convenient prep space for caterers to utilize.

smARTspace at 78th is the largest venue, which can seat up to 300 guests or up to 500 for standing room. smARTspace offers a creative setting, with large industrial windows, steel and wood accents, and art work curated by 78th Street Studios artists. Clients are able to bring in their own lighting and decor, or can use in house planner/designer Hilary Gent to assist with personalizing the room to fit any theme or style. The space is fully air conditioned, and clients can choose to rent our discounted in-house rental equipment.

HEDGE Gallery is an intimate venue that can host up to 100-120 guests seated, or up to 200 for a ceremony or theater style seating. The Gallery has gorgeous wood floors, exposed brick accents, industrial steel doors, and is always curated with a fresh, contemporary art exhibit to compliment any event. A popular combination package is to rent the Gallery for a wedding ceremony, and then enjoy smARTspace with your guests for the cocktail hour and reception. This option is perfect for those who don’t want to transport their guests all over town. Coordinating ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all in one unique location makes wedding and event planning that much easier!

Common areas on the second floor of the building can also be rented as mixed use spaces. There is room for a cocktail hour for up to 200 guests, or separate rooms can be rented for dressing, lounge areas, photography backdrops or meeting spaces.

The Ramp Level is our newest venue, which can seat up to 200 guests, or host up to 450 standing room. The space is surrounded by 78th Street Studios’ design businesses and ArtNEO, the Northeast Ohio Museum for Regional Art. Although the space is on the lower level of the building, the simple LED track lighting softens the room and columns, providing a classic industrial chic space for ceremonies, cocktail hour, or reception options.

Hilary Gent, our experienced in-house event planner and designer, is available to help with effortless timeline and floor plan development, one-of-a-kind floral creations, and decor such as lighting, props, and centerpiece packages. Hilary has worked in the event planning industry since 2004, and was trained under Dutch designer and florist Pieter Bouterse, whose work has been featured with David Tutera and the Oprah Winfrey Show. Hilary worked locally with Bouterse on events at The Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Botanical Garden, Renaissance and Ritz Carlton Hotels, The Natural History Museum, Country Clubs and the Pro Football Hall of Fame as well as many other locations.

Hilary is an artist at heart, who is also the director and curator of HEDGE Gallery. She believes that every wedding should be a celebration, and that design and decor should reflect the personalities of the couple, allowing their vision to shine from start to finish.
Her team works one on one with couples and family members, as well as the vendors such as caterers, bartenders, musicians, photographers etc to ensure that no detail is missed and that each part of the event is smooth and stress free.
